Animation and Motion Design

Sometimes I get bored and make videos to amuse myself. Sometimes those videos end up on social media. Sometimes, because of the videos that end up on social media.

misfits x family circus mash up

I thought it would be fun to mash the wholesomeness of the Family Circus comic up with the b-movie horror punk of The Misfits and its members.

the smiths/morrissey

I’m a huge fan of the ‘80s indie rock band, The Smiths. They were a huge source of creative inspiration before their former lead singer, Morrissey, became problematic.

A while back I made some 8-bit Smiths fan art based on their video for the song Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before. Then I came across an 8-bit cover of that song, so this happened.

A still from a French new wave flick, L'Insoumis, was used for the cover of my 2nd favorite Smiths album, The Queen is Dead.

I’ve had this hot take about Morrissey’s first post-Smiths solo album Viva Hate for a while and a couple of years ago, on the night before its 30th anniversary, I decided to put this together. The video is intended to be like one of those shareable Facebook videos that media companies and music blogs put out.

Most Morrissey fans didn’t agree with my hot takes. Also, apologies for the poor voice-over audio, but not really because I’m not an audio engineer and couldn’t get the fancy podcast mic I bought to work.

collage animation

Made with '80s clip art, old ads, or old comics.

A band that I'm an off-and-on member of decided to play a show, so I made a video flyer for my bandmates and me to promote the gig on Facebook and Instagram.
